Brief Background :

I completed masters with specialization in Angiosperm taxonomy from SPPU, Pune. Also worked with few NGOs on projects of Biodiversity assessments and Educational activities. I started my research career as ‘Research Student’ after joining on ARI in-house project (BD-01) Endemic vascular plants of Northern Western Ghats in 2016. In this project we have studied various local endemic plants of Northern Western Ghats and published checklist. Currently doing Ph.D. in Botany under the Guidance of Dr. Mandar Datar and also recipient of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj National Research Fellowship(CSMNRF-2019) by SARTHI, Pune (Govt. of Maharashtra).

Research interest- Angiosperms taxonomy and Forestecology. Currently we are surveying the forest fragments across the northern region of the Western Ghats in sacred groves, protected areas and privatelands, for their tree diversity and influence of disturbance on them. I am also interested in the grass taxonomy, plant diversity on Rock outcrops and endemic plants of Northern Western Ghats.
