Brief Background :

I am originally from Bhubaneswar, Odisha and I completed my graduation from Ramjas College, North Campus, University of Delhi (2015) with honours in Botany and did my Masters in Botany from Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab (2017). I qualified CSIR JRF (AIR 42) 2020 and GATE XL 2019 and joined Agharkar Research Institute, Pune in 2021 in Diatom Diversity and Distribution Lab (D3) Laboratory under the mentorship of Dr. Karthick Balasubramanian. My work revolves around morpho-molecular aspects of diatom community taxonomy and ecology in one of the river sub-basins of Maharshtra.

Her research interests are diatom DNA metabarcoding, phylogeny, diatom taxonomy and ecology.

My research interest is to assess the uniformity and dynamics of diatom flora across seasons in a river sub-basin using morphological methods and advanced molecular technique such as DNA metabarcoding coupled with Next-generation sequencing.
